• Service Data: Message metadata, message content (where required for support/troubleshooting), files/media transmitted via our platform (SMS, WhatsApp, email) through your use of the service.

• Technical & Usage Data: IP address, device identifier, browser type, operating system, page visits, API logs, integration logs.

• Payment & Billing Information: Payment method details (via third-party gateways), transaction history, invoices.

• Cookies & Tracking: Cookies, analytics tools, usage preferences.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your data to:

• Provide, operate and maintain the Unecast platform and services.

• Monitor and improve system performance, diagnose and fix issues.

• Authenticate your account and manage subscriptions.

• Manage messaging connectivity (SMS gateways, WhatsApp Business Platform) and integrations.

• Send you administrative communications (service updates, security alerts).

• Generate anonymised analytics and performance reports for you and aggregate usage metrics.

• Comply with legal, regulatory, or contractual obligations.

4. SMS Gateway / WhatsApp Business Platform Connectivity

• In order for you to send messages via SMS or WhatsApp through Unecast, we may integrate either direct operator connectivity (SMS) or your own SMS Gateway credentials (SMPP or API), or connect you to the WhatsApp Business Platform via Meta through Unecast.

• When you supply your own gateway credentials (SMS) or we configure WhatsApp Business Platform access on your behalf, you are responsible for ensuring that you have all required permissions, that the content and recipients comply with applicable laws (anti-spam, telecom regulation, industry codes) and that the gateway or platform provider’s terms are met.

• For WhatsApp Business Platform usage, you are subject to Meta’s pricing, policies, and template/message categories. Meta’s rate cards and policy changes apply to you directly via https://developers.facebook.com/docs/whatsapp/pricing

• We will collect minimal data required to enable these integrations (gateway credentials, configuration logs, etc.) and we will treat them securely under this Privacy Policy.

5. Data Sharing & Disclosure

We may share your information with:

• Service providers (cloud hosts, analytics providers, gateway partners, API integrators) under confidentiality and security obligations.

• Regulatory or legal authorities if required by law.

• Gateway providers or Meta (for WhatsApp) if needed for your messaging connectivity (subject to your consent and contractual terms).
  We do not sell or rent your personal data to third parties for marketing purposes.

6. Data Security & Retention

• We maintain industry standard security practices (encryption in transit and rest, access controls, audit logs, regular backups).

• Data retention: We retain your account information, message metadata and logs for as long as your account is active and up to 90 days after deletion, unless longer retention is required by law or a contractual obligation.

• Upon termination, we will securely delete or anonymise your personal data in accordance with our policies.

7. International Transfers

Because our services may operate globally, your data may be transferred to and processed in jurisdictions outside Sri Lanka. We will ensure appropriate safeguards (e.g., encryption, contracts) for such transfers.
